Coimbatore : P.R. Natarajan of CPI (M) electoral candidate of DMK-led alliance in Coimbatore had met the functionaries of the other parties in DMK alliance today.

He visited the District DMK party office in Vadakovai, here and interacted with MLA N Karthik and other functionaries. Later, he met TN Congress Committee working President, Mayura Jayakumar at the Congress party office.

While addressing the media, P.R. Natarajan said, "People have faced many problems for the past 5 years, due to the ruling BJP government in the Centre. After implementation of demonetisation and GST, many establishments in Coimbatore have been shut down".
When questioned about the Pollachi sexual abuse incident, he said it is an unacceptable crime and has brought shame to the Kongu region. "The accused involved in the crime should be awarded the highest punishment", he stressed.
He also apprised that CPI will fight to revoke the State government’s decision of handing over of the drinking water supply distribution to a private firm.
"Flyovers will be constructed in Coimbatore to ease traffic", he noted.
‘We will also stress to operate trains to Bangalore in night hours. Actions will be initiated to provide compensation to the people who have handed over their lands to Bharathiar University. Measures will be taken to reopen the closed industries in Coimbatore based on which our election campaigns will be conducted", he added.
Later, P.R. Natarajan also went to CPI office where he met with the district secretary V.S Sundaram and state treasurer Arumugam.
